Tyres – St Andrews Service Centre
Cars tyres are what keep the car in contact with the road. They are about as important as it gets on a vehicle therefore it is important to check them on a regular basis to ensure they are in a safe working condition. Need new tyres? Or just require some advice? Contact Us – 01334 479111
The legal limit for minimum depth of the tread on your tyres is 1.6 millimetres, across the central ¾ of the tread around the complete circumference of the tyre. For safety reasons it is recommended that you replace your tyres before the legal limit is reached.
As part of our service, at every visit we will check your tyre pressures, tread depths and condition to make sure you are safe on the roads!!
Winter / Summer Tyres
During the winter, driving conditions become challenging and making sure you are safe on the roads is important! Previous winters have resulted in chaos on UK roads caused by ice and snow with many people struggling to get out of their road and driveway.
In comparison to summer tyres, winter tyres reduce braking distance significantly in snow and ice.
Not only that, due to the specially developed compound which contains more natural rubber and increased groove ratio a winter tyre can maintain excellent grip in snow/ice and wet conditions.
How we check your tyres:
St Andrews Service Centre like to keep things simple at Bosch, therefore we mark the condition of your tyres in an easy way so you know exactly what things mean!
Since November 2012, a tyre labelling system is now in place in order to grade tyres for: Fuel efficiency, Wet Grip & Exterior Noise.
